"Directing this talented cast, especially the gifted and respected Tamara Taylor, is a dream come true for me. Tamara's range and versatility is unmatched. Although this film is wrapped in a commercially driven psychological thriller, the storyline examines the importance of compassion and perseverance in supporting those facing mental health challenges—a message embodied by Tamara's character," said Coates.

Joining Taylor in the cast are Isaac Keys (Power Book IV: Force), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, Expendables), Judae'a (The Chi, Chicago Med), Elizabeth Caponigro (Ageless Love), Kris D. Lofton (Power Book IV: Force), Christopher Mann (Loving, House of Cards), and newcomer Brandon J. Miller. Casting was led by Leslie M. Greene, C.S.A.

The film follows Bobby, a young man with mental challenges who has spent eight years in a behavioral healthcare facility after witnessing his father’s murder, a crime allegedly committed by his mother, Carol Anne. Traumatized into silence, Bobby becomes the personal mission of Dr. Sheri Jackson (played by Taylor), the facility’s lead psychiatrist, who strives to break through to him. As Bobby reunites with his family, long-buried secrets resurface, setting off a chain of events that blur the line between love and destruction. The screenplay was written by JE Tyler and Donald Edwards.

"I knew I was in a few pages into the script. I found the journey of this character intriguing, and the arc of the story unexpected and compelling. Can't wait to dive in!" said Tamara Taylor.

Filming is scheduled to begin in Pennsylvania in January 2025, with distribution by Urban Home Entertainment.

The movie will star Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and Ed Begley Jr. and will premiere on the Hallmark Channel during the 15th Annual Countdown to Christmas programming event.

The film will begin production next month and will be shot entirely in Kansas City, Missouri, including the iconic GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. This marks the first time the stadium has been used as a filming location for a Hallmark movie.

"With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition, and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations," said Darren Abbott, Chief Brand Officer at Hallmark. "By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community's spirit, rich traditions, and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way."

The plot of "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story" revolves around Alana Higman, played by King, whose family's history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them frontrunners in the team's "Fan of the Year" contest. Hynes plays Derrick, the Director of Fan Engagement, who is tasked with evaluating Alana's family. As they spend time together, a romance develops, but challenges arise when a vintage Chiefs hat, significant to Alana's grandfather, goes missing.

The collaboration between Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs will include game-day activations, co-branded merchandise, and various promotional activities across different platforms. The partnership aims to engage audiences both on and off the field, with further details to be announced later this year.

Skydance Sports, a venture between Skydance Media and the NFL, serves as the Executive Producer of the film. The venture focuses on expanding sports programming across multiple platforms.
